Take a step back 200 years in time at Lang Pioneer Village Museum. Costumed interpreters roam the picturesque village demonstrating the life and trades of a settler in agricultural Peterborough County in the 1800’s. Established in 1967, Lang Pioneer Village Museum is a living history museum featuring 30 restored and recreated buildings typical of a small 19th-century village. Many of the buildings were relocated to the Village from within the County of Peterborough in order to preserve the region’s history. Located in the hamlet of Lang, just north of Keene, Ontario, Lang Pioneer Village Museum nestles the shores of the scenic Indian River and boasts a fully-operational Grist Mill. The newly designed S. W. Lowry Weaver Shop & Jacquard Loom Interpretive Centre houses one of only a handful authentic Jacquard looms on display in North America and features a second fully-operational replica Jacquard loom. Lang Pioneer Village Museum is the perfect location to retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern living and enjoy the pleasures of an era gone by.
